Improved Workflow and alerting

New options make it easier to automatically creating case notes which can trigger alerts and other actions from other case note details and timings. For example, if you report weekly on a case, it’s now possible to generate an alert if it’s seven days since the inception of the case, or since the last report on the case.

Survey Forms that trigger case actions

You can now configure Polonious to automatically send and request information from a person who is or is not a Polonious user. This allows, for example, sending and receiving answers to client surveys, investigator quality questioning, investigator case acknowledgements (by pressing a button in an email).

You can automatically populate the email with contents from the case so that reference numbers, statistics, previous remarks can be incorporated in the email. When the recipient presses the button or clicks the link, they are sent to a pre-configured form which allows them to review attached documents, as well as answer one or more questions in response. These answers can include checkboxes which can then prompt further actions on the case.

For example, you could send a video link to a client for review, but include also, a form that makes it easy for your client to approve further work (with specific notes on what’s needed) on that case in an easy to use form. This would update budgets, and notes, triggering the next step of the investigation.

This whole process can be configured with work required by any developers or IT people involved.

Analyst Notebook (ANB) integration

This new module enables creation of graphical objects in ANB directly from data in Polonious. Your analyst can easily query Polonious for people, cases, organisations, assets and other evidence, building an Analyst Notebook view of a case. They can also request new case work directly in Polonious from ANB.

Bringing an industry-leading link analysis tool and an industry-leading case management tool together.

Developer API REST calls extended

It’s now even easier to integrate other IT systems with Polonious. All API calls are secured with OAuth2 and cover key resources within Polonious. Most developers understand how to quickly make REST calls, these can be used to create cases, case notes and query key elements of Polonious.

These include:

  • Persons (of interest or other)
  • Cases
  • Case Notes
  • Organisations (of interest or clients/vendors)
  • Assets (evidence, other assets)

All API calls object our security requirements ensuring you cannot leak information out of the business via these methods.

Additionally, you can initiate a computer service outside of Polonious with a REST call that can be attached to any Case Note entry. For example:

  1. A Case Note is added called ‘weather check’.
  2. The case note triggers a REST call to a server passing the case id, the date/time for the weather check and an address for location of the weather.
  3. The server calls a weather service (for example https://openweathermap.org/) and extracts weather details for that date/time/location.
  4. The server makes a REST call on Polonious using an authenticated Oauth token and creates a new case note on the relevant case storing the desired weather in that location at that date/time.
  5. The investigator uses that information as part of their case and final report to claims.

Report image auto-compression

Everyone is using high-megapixel cameras to record pictures these days. This feature enable you to resize those huge files automatically as part of our automatic report generation step.

This work was completed in reaction to 50Mb PDF files that users were reporting, where 47Mb of that file were images.

This has enabled much smaller, more shareable reports that still contain all of the required images sized for printing and viewing in a PDF.
